Family-owned industrial company since 1976

The year is 1976. Edmond Chastagnier, born in 1924, is nearing the end of a teaching career at the public college of Tence, in the Haute-Loire department. Where others might envision a peaceful retirement in this village located southeast of Velay, he is thinking of the future of his three sons.

Driven by a desire to transmit, a calling he had already embraced professionally, Edmond wished to offer his sons the opportunity to live in their home region. He then gathered his savings and acquired the business of a small workshop manufacturing wire guides, components for the textile industry. This marked the beginning of the Edmond & Fils adventure…

Metal Outdoor Furniture Manufacturer

From father to son over 3 generations

When Edmond & Fils was founded, the machines were installed in the basement of the family home. After school and on days off, everyone came to lend a hand.

Gradually, the small workshop expanded. Formerly specializing in the manufacture of a single type of component, the company expanded its expertise in metals and shifted towards the production of high-end furniture.

Today, Edmond’s sons manage the company, and his three grandsons oversee the complementary activities that enable Edmond & Fils to fully control the manufacturing chain of its furniture collections.

Until very recently, Edmond Chastagnier, well into his 90s, would come to the site every morning to read his newspaper and greet the teams, always curious about new machines and ongoing work.
